CAMBRIDGE DRAWING SOCIETY AT THE PITT BUILDING
Cambridge Drawing Society is the quietly named epicentre of art in Cambridge. Astonishing is the only word to apply to a first visit to this show, the range of talent, the imagination, the versatility - the genius of so many of them. All together. It’s quite hard to know where to look next or actually when to leave ( you’re exhausted but you keep going ). The contributors are amazing themselves. Hardly surprising to find artists so inventive but they are. Ordinary or way out, trained or self taught, they are all here.
Exhibition opens March 24th in the Pitt Building, pass King’s College and keep going it’s on the right, situated left at the top of Silver Street. Was once referred to as The Freshers’ College as so many newcomers mistook it for an unnamed College they hadn’t yet identified. It was a printing press for the University - now find there some of the most arresting art - and most for sale- you will find in this fair city.
